As an addendum, I'd like to state that I should have mentioned in my comments
(below) that I was comparing Jim's model to all existing PLASTIC model only...
although we may find out in the end that Jim's model will be on par with even
most BRASS models. I also want to state that I was comparing Jim's model
samples to all types of railcar models, no matter what type of car may be...
boxcars, other gondolas, flats, hoppers... you name it. So its badge of
superiority quality is going to be easily earned.

Lastly... much to the disappointment of RTR fans... this model may be coming in
KIT form, but that makes it fit the badge that S scale has long had if being
the "Builder's Scale."

Subject: Jim King's Southern Low Side Gondola SAMPLES!!!

  Howdy groups,

Having met with Jim King this past Friday in Atlanta for some railfanning and
train-talking, I had the privilege of seeing the pre-production castings for
the Southern low-side goldola! And to put it simply... NOTHING available in
the S scale market today even comes CLOSE to the quality and accuracy of this
model... period. I remember that not long after I posted (a while back) that
Jim was moving into S scale, someone made the statement that "the bar is about
to be raised!" Well, whoever said that was exactly right... this model might
very well be the shot in the arm that S had needed for YEARS and years and
years!
