Both types will get the job done, however, digital calipers are usually easier
for people who don't use them often or don't have a lot of experience.

The digital type will allow you to:
1) make incremental as well as absolute measurements and
2) make measurements in metric as well as inches

You can find them at www.penntoolco.com

I've got to buy myself a new (better) set of calipers (so I can do more,
better (more-better?) scratchbuilding), and I don't know whether I should go
with a Dial type or a Digital type? Also, since I inherited the one I have, I
don't really know where to get them from.

 Any suggestions?
