Hello folks,
this may have been mentioned previously, but another source of
trackwork and robust, accurate construction methods is Tim Warris at
FastTracks. Excellent web site at << handlaidtrack.com >> Don't be
put off by the name, as there are great techniques presented there for
quickly building prefab turnouts and crossings at your workbench.
Lots of good ideas and videos, and downloadable templates for all
scales from Z to O and switch sizes from 4 thru 12, including S, Sn3,
and Sn2. Of course, all of this is because he wants you to buy his
tools and supplies. His fixtures support a variety of rail sizes,
based on MicroEngineering rail for c40 - c100.
One of the best innovations is a way of easily doing turnouts built to
almost arbitrary radius; a great space saver and excellent for
achieving trackwork that flows nicely. I've just ordered a bunch of
these in HO.
Larry Hanlon.
