Bud, I believe SP referred to their 2-10-2's Decapods. The common "name" designation for steam locomotives wasn't written in stone. After all, the NYC refreed to Mountains as Mowhawks and Northerns as Niagra's. Plus, the Milwaukee called their 4-6-4's Baltics.
There was also a time when some railroads Mikado's were referred to as Mac Arthurs. I'll admit though, when I saw the wore "Decapod," my heart skipped a beat. Even though I knew better, I was hoping to see Russian Decapods under the headline.... Russian Decapod... Arr, that'd be nice. Rich G. Making a great deal out of very little for the better half of a century. --- In [email protected], "bud9351" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Howdy Jim, > Checked out the new Harriman's coming on your website, great > looking power but when are the LV T2B Wyomings coming? <G> I do have > to note however that your web guy made a mistake in calling the > 2-10-2's "decapods".
