Jeff and group,

I'd like to correct a misconception. My layout is not scale, but rather is
hirail wrt track and wheel profiles, but uses scale couplers and goes for scale
accuracy on the scenery. Below is a corrected write up that I just sent in
that clarifies the point.

--------------------

Peter Gagnon - Peter has a very compact S gauge highrail layout based loosly on
the Santa Fe in the transition era (c. 1950). The four any a half by seven foot
pike is in the form of a twice around loop that passes through the fictious
southern California foothill town of Wrights. The layout features two short
scratch built timber trestles and a kit-built timber pony truss bridge as well
as several culverts. The 1380 scale foot mainline also features a short tunnel
and a section of rock cut.

A two track yard was recently added, and a turnout is in place for an engine
service module that is still in the planning stages. Additional planned
extensions include a packing house and iceing facilities. Currently, the layout
is housed in Peter's garage on sawhorses. Once the messy parts of the scenery
are completed, the layout will be moved into the back bedroom of the house.
Additions will be in the form of bolt on modules.

DCC power is by Lenz Set100, with two of the road's four engines being equipped
with Soundtrax sound. A second throttle is available for guest operators. Track
is mostly code 125 nickel silver sectional with flex track used on the
trestles, approaches to turnouts and in the yard. Minimum radius is approx.
19". There is a small pond and stream where the yard connects to the main.

Like Jeff, I'd very much like to give S a good showing at the NMRA convention,
as will be working on enlarging and improving my layout between now and then.
I'm also planning on making handouts for the guests that has a roster of my
rolling stock that lists manufacturers with address and contact info, so non-S
folks who may be interested can find the sources of supply. Naturally, I'll
list the NASG web site and Craig O"Connell's S Scale Model Railroading page as
well.

Regards....

Peter Gagnon
