Richard,

Far too much wondering!  The future of S is no more predictable than our own 
lives.  My money 
says that if the existing manufactures/importers retire, some enterprising S 
gauger will pick up 
on it.  If not, life goes on and you still have your existing toys to play 
with.  So, go play with them  
and have great time while you can!  Life is too short to worry about the 
unpredictables!
