Hi Ed- I replied back offline to Kelvin and Chuck informing them that Mr. Larson is an active member of the NASG. I did not reply to the list at large when the original questions were posted hoping that Mr. Larson's mailings were to just a few random NASG members.
All I can tell you is that Phillip Larson originally joined the NASG in 1993 and recently renewed his lapsed membership. I have gotten a few of his odd notes written on the back of envelopes. He was kind enough to even enclose a self addressed envelopes in all his mailings to me although they lacked a stamp and his mailing address was difficult to decipher. Curiously, I got duplicate and even triplicate letters postmarked on or about the same day with nearly identical messages as if he had forgotten he had already mailed me. In each of his letters. Mr. Larson expressed an interest in the NASG and so I sent him a membership app and a short description of the nature of the NASG. He later sent $20 to join the NASG and it was then, when I went to register him, that I discovered he was a lapsed member. He has not written to me since re-upping his membership in August.
