John,  I didn't see any cardboard insulators but they might have been 
under tarps LOL.  Likewise I asked about the jumper wires!  Seriously, 
because these ties nest into each other a whole stack is only a few feet 
high and I would suspect they might be lighter.  They are just raw steel 
so they do rust rather quickly.
