I think I have photos of an unbuilt kit around here somewhere. If I
find them, I'll post them. One of my kits had formed brass ends, the
other cast soft metal ends. I replaced the cast ends with formed ones
from Locomotive Workshop.

Bill Lane, if I lived closer to you, I could probably tune your engine
to where you would rather not replace the drive. I built five
Lcocomotive Workshop engines (with a sixth in the wings if I ever find
a set of G&W switch engine truck frames)and have always been extremely
satisfied with their performance and tractive effort.

I saw your method of adding all-wheel pickup on your engine on your
web page. If my engines have any operating shortcomings it is with the
2-wheels per truck pickup.

Also, you may find that the sideframes hang a little low and tend to
rub railheads as they cross them at switches, etc. The way I solved
this problem was to file the bottoms of the equalizer bars, then
replace the rivet eyelet axle bearings with brass tubing that has
thicker walls and a more precise fit on the axle bearing surfaces.
