Yes you are correct,sir.....the "scale" wheels of cars and equipment have no 
problem with any 2-rail AF track and switches, as the AF switch amounts to a 
"closed frog" concept (although its the ends of the running rail and not 
actually the "frog" that moves back and forth to close the "gap". This prevents 
the scale wheels from droping into the frog...the only two things I can think 
of, that prevent all scale cars and loco's to operate is the tight radius of AF 
track and the 90 deg. crossing that would allow wheels to drop down into the 
"frogs" of this crossing. On my hand made crossings this is not a problem...I 
can use both scale and AF wheels interchangably. Essentially there is no reason 
to have the "huge" flanges and oversized angled wheel treads, to assure great 
high speed operation for those that find this important, for me I like to run 
at slower speeds.
