I renamed this file "American Models Switch". It shows my latest
attempt to use a plastic base (homemade) under a piece of trackwork.
An original AM switch built the conventional way provides a comparison

Also, I found the solid point/closure rail assemblies put too much
strain on the soldered throwbar connections, causing them to break
frequently. I resolved this by separating the points and connecting
them to the closure rails with rail joiners.
