Okay group,

In sympathy of Monsieur Degnan, for bringing up HO couplers...

If you want to see S scale Sergent couplers on equipment, visit my
website, www.mlwservices.ca Only Sergent couplers are used there. Now
if you want a copy of article for my cheap method for making draft gear
boxes for them, please email me offlist.

Once again, I use Sergents but I am frustrated in their lack of
availability. The only other thing that I will willingly use are the
SHS. They are designed by S scalers for S scale and do extremely
well.

The 802's are too jiggly even with the 0.032 piece of rod inserted! My
locos run at scale speeds as low as 1/4 MPH or less. When you go to 1
on my NCE controllers, they start at a crawl. Bill Lane and Jamie
Bothwell can attest to the running capabilities. Some have said the
jiggly is prototypic. I disagree because the amount of coupler slack
is not scaled down and the tension is too loose.

Now, if you want to know how to get rid of the jiggly of the 802, use
two of the Sergent springs instead of the 802 springs. Works like a
charm.

Bottom line, use SHS, get the S scale springs from Sergent for your
802's or use Sergent.

As you can see, I support SHS and Sergent. Both are excellent compared
to the frustrating Kadee!

'nuff said.

cheers,

Andy Malette
