Thanks for all the kind words and even offers of help! When we built
the trainroom addition, our club was a bit younger and in my case a bit
leaner! I guess you could say the layout started with a scratchbuilt
building to house the layout. Wonder if I can get some NMRA brownie
points for that!
Interesting note I got off the evening news, regarding corrosion of all
the mechanical and electrical components due to sea water. This means
every outlet, breaker box, electrical and gas meters, AC units will
mostly likely need replacing in the high water areas. The damaged area
is said to be about the size of New Jersey, Conn, Rhode Is, and Delaware
combined. The islands of Galveston & Tiki had some wonderful layouts
plus a decent museum. I haven't heard a word about any of that but I'm
sure six ft of water did a lot of damage. There were a few private
business cars parked at the museum.
I was able to pick up work on my Pine Canyon 6 story back alley kit last
night--glad to get back to it. I started the glazing of windows after
putting grout material on the walls.
I received a email from our November layout tour coordinator wanting to
know how many layouts were left in the area to be on tour. I assured
him I would be open--railroading must go on! I believe I will be the
only S layout open this year.
