Howdy! Jan and I really enjoyed the convention. Meeting individuals that comprise this list is very interesting and their stories about modeling really encourages more.
Our hosts in Minneapolis were great. Bill is really right when he describes Steve's place on the lake is 'very special' is an understatement. Have never sat on a porch and had an eagle fly right by and land in a neighbor's tree where we could see it! We are looking forward to next year in Sacremento. The taconite tour guide was especially knowledgable and thorough. And there is nothing like having nearly 60 tons of coal dumped right in front of your eyes (15 feet or less) in just a couple of seconds! The "preconvention" in Minneapolis was also fun, with many layouts and their owners going out of their way to make us welcome. Ken Z. and Steve. D deserve special rocognition for their hospitality and cooking, and Steve's place on the lake is very special. Ed L. also had us laughing when he gave the promo for next year's convention --" I am not taking questions!" Thanks to all that contributed! Bill Winans ---The opening on Wednesday night in the RR museum was tops as was the food. ---The banquet food was excellent and Tony Koester had a great speech. ---In all I would like to thank the boys of Minnesota for a great Convention.
