I have not yet ordered one of those ten Dollar NMRA box cars but still want to
if some of the PRS cars remain. IF the car is a 10' 6" IH, it would be
interesting to try the following:
1. Cut off the sides entirely, leaving the roof and ends intact.
2. Transform the car into a WWII War Emergency box car. Several important
roads had these cars. I cannot recall all, but the following come to mind: NKP,
C&NW, NP, after that memory fails.
Just thinking about such a project now, it doesn't seem that challenging or
improbable. Of course, it's just come to mind and may harbor pitfalls I know
not of. IF the car is a PRS car with a 10' 0" IH, well, one road--I cannot
recall which--had War Emergency cars of that IH as well.
Someone on this list may know which roads had these cars. Anyway, sounds like
an interesting project. Any thoughts.
