I've just uploaded two more photos of my latest Atlas #6 switch conversions. Note that it uses no spikes and is completely portable, just like the HO version.
It's not exactly Trousdale quality, but it is trouble-free and gives modelers of S scale a lower priced and decent looking switch for operating layouts where inticate track detail may not be as desirable or possible, as circumstances dictate I don't know why I'm doing this, I have all the switches I need, but I'm trying to devise a way to convert Atlas switches efficiently for building an operating layout in a reasonable amount of time. If I ever do have to dismantle SHABBONA RR, I'll have a number of re-usable switches to start over, and I obviously won't have another forty years to accomplish what I have now. Yes, before you ask, it is "DCC-friendly", probably friendlier than DCC itself. It is also "Micro-switch-friendly" for frog power and the requisite polarity switching thereof. I've also begun to re-mount some of my Old Pullman #5 switches on styrene switch blocks in the same spikeless manner, with great results. They too, are "DCC-friendly" (as is the bridge over the Hudson River I'd like to sell, but that's another topic!).
