Our WEF (weekend fun) happened on Saturday down at Texas City. I quick
look through the mall for our setup area confirmed the desperate
economic condition of the mall. Roughly half the stores were vacant.
At noon we noticed a lawyer had set up a table offering his services for
a lawsuit against BP. We didn't know if it was the Gulf spill, the
large refinery explosion and fire several years ago, or a more recent
smaller fire they had a couple of weeks ago!

Our setup went very smoothly, with about a dozen of us there to setup.
A freight train was running 30 minutes before 'show time'. Problem was
the ratio of modular club members to mall customers was roughly 1:1 for
most of the day! So we pretty much ran trains for ourselves. Anyway
two new modules were brought into the fold and a couple of problems were
solved. As the day ended we journeyed back with sore feet and some money.

In a few weeks we'll be setting up again for a large train show, so this
was good prep for that.
