Thanks Wes, as I was lucky to see him once at a concert too.

He radio show was neat, as he talked allot about his days riding the rails as a
hobo.

Also pick up his four CD set Starlight on the Rails: A Songbook. It is loaded
with his wry stories of riding the rails, interspersed with his wonderful
songs. I treasure the evening I attended a concert by Phillips and his good
friend, Rosalie Sorrels, in Woods Hole years ago. This world is a less
interesting place since he left it. - Wes Ewell

Being in Maine reminded me of Utah Phillips as he used to have a show
syndicated, Loafer’s Glory which was played on WERU in Maine.

A great show.

Utah was a train hopper was you can read about it above, as he did serve in the
Military in in the 1950s.

He past away in 2007. He was well known in the folk music world, as we saw him
once. A character.

There is 28 shows on this website, as Tramping starts out with a poem. It is
show number 6, as there is another show about Tramping on this site. RR music
in the background, as this show is about Hobos and RRs. Allot of history about
labor in the RR. Allot of old RR songs and the hard times.

He has a show on baseball.

Utah is very well spoken.

I think some of you will enjoy his shows, especially the Tramping shows and the
RRs.
