Friends,

A few months ago I got 'railroaded' into accepting what I thought was a
easy job as president of a local social/all scale club that sponsors a
medium sized show plus our yearly Fall tours (one of the biggest in the
country). Little did I realize some of the other things that needed to
be dealt with. Over the last week, four different layout owners have
decided to dispose of their stuff. One very large collection owner has
health issues, two are leaving town, & one no longer has the room.

Maybe this is normal, maybe it's the economy (they claim Texas is better
off than the rest of the country--I doubt that) or perhaps they just got
tired of building the layouts. If S scale lost that many
layouts/modelers we'd be gone in three years! Something to think about
with our increasing age.
