Subject: {S-Scale List} Brick Color tests

Whether you consider yourself just another brick in the wall or are more of a
brick....house type, I put another image in the mhrywest album called brick
color test. I used some knockouts from my ImagineThat panels to do some tests.
I colored some brick before and after dull cote, both methods work, the color
added after the dull cote looked smoother, before dullcote looked a bit more
weathered. I can weather after dullcote so both methods work. I have samples
untreated, ink washed only and colored with PrismaColor (Michaels),
Copic/Sketch markers (Archeivers), Crayola and Roseart colored markers. Pretty
tough to choose one, they all look good to me. The art store markers are more
expensive so they must be the better examples, after all more cost is always
better right? The top level second from the right has been weathered with
chalk, the darker was wiped after application with a slightly damp cloth, the
lighter weather was wiped with a cloth dipped in alochol. I know Steve uses
Roberts mortar to get a white concrete look but by the time the 60's came
around, the mortar was getting pretty dingy gray or black. This has all be
enjoyable, I had hoped to find the correct answer but oh well the options all
seem good to me. I will seal my final choice with dullcote (actually I use a
cheap matt clear spray from the hardware store it is less expensive and seems
to work just fine) because I like to seal wood to avoid any moisture issues.
Well that is it, no great new progress to report, i will leave that to Steve,
he owes us some new images anyway.
Just a personal request, there are some albums that are really old and
perhaps not even containing information of current interest in the S market. If
any of these are yours and you deleted them, it would be easier for me to find
new stuff in other albums.
I gotta go but why are the Commodores signing in my head and where are my
dollar bills. No...no, that was another Ken really.
