John: Nothing real dramatic, here. I have a mental block, too, when it comes to scenery. In fact, other than basic ground cover, my efforts have been only minimal so far. I still need to figure out how to make bridge abutments and scenic the ravine.
After painting the Homasote with Spruce Green latex paint, I simply drilled holes to plant the trees, then used ground cover, SE Iowa "dhurght" and model grass, before I planted them. Pretty primitive, but I felt like I had to start somewhere. I've been studying roadside weeds for years for possible tree candidates.
