I recently ordered a "1" kit, Earls Oil kit and Instant "Weathering Powders"
set from Bar Mills. They say the powders are "industrial strength coloring
agents, non toxic, employing various degrees of an oil based substance in their
composition". These powders adhere to everything. The package contained 4
plastic envelopes of different colors. The black one did not get closed tightly
and the package was coated with the powder. After cleaning up the mess I had to
scrub my hands with soap to get the stuff off. I used them on the gon in the
pics sent out last week and they worked really well. I will post new pics soon.
I also haave a 4 color set from Bragdon and find the Bar Mills product to be
every bit as good, if not better than the Bragdon. I like the Bragdon packaging
better than the envelopes, but I will transfer them to covered cups. I have
not tried to overcoat the gon and will not. I did overcoat the bragdon
weathering and it did diminish the look I wanted on a loco.
Just my experience.
