Then there were efforts early on to try and get some type of 
organizational S group going  before the NASG. At that time NMRA seemed to be a 
bigger influence in the modeling group at large but I have always felt like it 
struggled between O and HO. I remember when I asked around about S in the late 
60's. I was pretty much just looked over to the guy behind me. Considering how 
I am i can understand why some one would want to do that though.
