I have found Aleens to be invaluable in my layout work. I use both regular
and super tacky depending on the need for nearly immediate fixation. Primarily
I use the stuff for affixing roadbed and then flextrack and Fast Tracks jig
built turnouts to the roadbed. I am using S scale vinyl roadbed. Aleens holds
well enough that I have had no problems with things moving when I don't
want them to move. On the other hand, when mistakes are made, track work can be
pried up without damage and glue residue easily cleaned up for the next try.
Aleens dries clear but unlike Elmer's it does not dry hard, remaining
somewhat rubbery. Good stuff for not transmitting sound. Also, unlike the
wood glues, it seems to stick equally well to all materials - wood, plastic,
metal, glass. My subroadbed is the extruded poly insulation ( pink stuff).
Aleens attacks the poly a little bit but not enough to be an issue. I have
even removed vinyl roadbed from the poly and successfully repositioned it.

Good Stuff!
