Subject: {S-Scale List} GS-4

Photos in my album. It's a long slow process and really dosen't look like much
has happened. Right! Except for all those little hidden things: Stripped
screws, misaligned holes, broken solder joints, cold solder joints, The
patterns and castings that that needed to be made. Castings that were actually
cracked and need to be silver soldered together! Unsoldering and resoldering
super structure componets that should have been installed correcttly from the
factory in the first place.
Except for the inside of the boiler front the model on the right in the photo
is factory stock and the ones on the left have been reworked. The hardest part
was really getting rid of the bolted on skirts and going to solder on skirts
which meant redoing the entire front pilot location and the front steps.
it's a good thing I'm not trying to build an empire in a 5000 square foot
space. The digging in my cave would be just too much. I have more of these
GS-4's and I think I will convert one to a GS-3. I really only need to make a
new tender wrapper and a new boiler front.
