Bob,
Happy to hear that it will finally see the light of day.
Unfortunately, the rest is all too familiar.

Bob, any chance you will make the St. Louis S-Fest?

Subject: {S-Scale List} Some pretty good news!

S Friends,

Some might remember that I spend a couple of days after the (now long
gone) St. Louis convention in Springfield, Illinois, where I
photographed two model railroads there. I announced that RMC was the
intended publisher of Bob & Brian Jackson's California based layout as
well as the layout of their friend who modeled in the smaller scale.

After quite a wait, I finally inquired about anticipated publication
dates for either layout as well as, receipt of some kind of payment. I
became very concerned about a lack of communication from the folks at
RMC, so I approached the folks at Kalmbach to see if I could tweak their
interest. It worked and they loved both articles. After that I
informed RMC that I was moving my projects to another publisher. They
finally responded saying that the HO layout was on the press. Of course
it was and it looked pretty good, at least from my standpoint. I did
inform them that Kalmbach would still be given the second article
featuring our S scale layout, since I had not seen any sort of payment.

Well, at this time contracts have been signed, payment made and a
scheduled publication of the Central California Railroad has been made.
Publication is still several months off but I feel it'll finally
happen. Meanwhile, this starving artist photographer is still waiting
for payment from RMC.

I haven't talked with either Bob or Brian, to see if they'll be at the
convention, but if they are, poke them on building a fine layout and for
putting up with me!
