As one of my MANY projects, I've cut the roof off a SHS 2 bay covered hopper
to model a ballast hopper on the industrial shortline I'm modelling (they
have two).

It will look somewhat like the one in Gary's NOSS folder - the major
difference is "converting" the car to an ACF (I think) type car
http://canadianfreightcargallery.ca/cgi-bin/image.pl?i=etr822&o=etl

So far, doesn't look too bad but still a ways to go. I've cut the ballast
chutes off an HO ballast hopper with the idea of splicing them on.
