This is why brakemen and conductors are overweight these days.

For years they could takev a break and go for a walk.  Now they just sit.

Like firemen you cannot shovel oil.

  The RR's started building cars without roofwalks in June, 1966, and began 
removing them from cars so equipped a short time later. About two years 
previous to that they put out a rule forbidding trainmen to use the roofwalks.
