Bar Mills is 1 that actually has a kit for a generic- use your imagination-
structure that includes laser cut windows, doors.

When we buy a real house we don't go looking for a kit, we just buy the
materials and build it or have someone else buy them and build it for us in
whatever design we want or need. The only kit buildings that make true sense
from a layout design standpoint are things like butler buildings and modular
buildings that are generic or kit built

in the real world?
I disagree. When I look for bldgs for my RR, I have something in mind and do a
search for it or something close. I would suggest if the only bldgs were as you
listed, there would be far fewer model bldgs on layouts. It is the imagination
and research kit mfgrs do plus input from modelers that helps to create the
variety we- or most of us- enjoy in this hobby.

So 1 would build it the way it is designed and the other 99 will modify the kit
to suit there own personal use.
