>From our beginnings the Pequea Valley Model Railroaders ( PVMR ) have
had/built/ displayed "S" gauge. The most interesting reason is that we HAD
"S" gauge, far more than any other scale/gauge. We long ago planned an "O"
layout, now finally being built and will be displayed along with our new H
O layout. As many features of the "S" as is possible, lean toward
"scale", where-ever possible. The "O" is to be a 50's "Christmas Morning"
event
and the H O a kids favorite steam train event. ALL being built for the
public to enjoy.
Hopefully the barn will one day have an "S" scale layout built in it to
enjoy, right now we build for people to enjoy and we will be open 19 Saturdays
& Sundays in Nov, Dec & Jan to run trains for "people", young and not so
young and everyone in between. We open our first weekend with 3
operating layouts, 11 trains running. Our second weekend we will have 5
layouts
running in two different locations. Up to 5 layouts after that in the main
display.
BTW, we have "O", "S" "H-O" "G" Standard Gaugers, MARX enthusiasts,
several of us work rail excursions and one is an engineer & a "maintainer" on
the 12" Gauge Conestoga & Northern Railroad and I am a qualified engineer on
the same. Our "youngest" engineer" is around five, the oldest
mid-seventies.
Most of us also belong to and volunteer at TCA's NTTM, several belong to
NASG, some to TTOS.
At PVMR it is all about people being introduced to or reminded of the joy
of trains, at least some of whom we hope will become enthusiasts as well.
