Friday came around really fast again!
This week saw little done on the railroad, sorry to say. Biggest
accomplishment was to get the car from Ken Z. (we traded) set up and put in
service.
Much of this week has been getting ready for the winter blast – clearing the
fallen leaves and putting up the outside decorations. Another big item was
getting my wife ready for a trip to CA to take care of her folks, but they both
died this week and so now she is leaving to take care of their estate as
executor. Hope to have her back in time for Christmas...

Got another SHRB plug door boxcar painted today, and received my order of
C.R.I.X. decals for the Rock Island 40' plug door car I want to do, if I can
ever figure out what color it is. Also, from the photo of C.R.I.X. #2267 that I
am working from, the roof appears to be aluminum colored.
Resurrected another "way back" project, SHABBONA RR superintendent's private
car, #100. This is an AF converted heavyweight observation car. The last time I
worked on it was around 1998. The last time I saw it was on the fireplace
mantle at our house in Ottawa, IL, just before I packed it away for the move to
Ft. Madison.
Still searching the pre-owned rolling stock market for an unlettered AM 40'
plug door boxcar, plus, still waiting for a serious visit from the "sceni-geni".
