I just received some more photos from Gary Ippolito of the Northern Ohio S
Scalers of a completed Southern Hopper set that the prototype had coupled two 2
Bay Hoppers with a drawbar.
Quote from Gary:
Southern had a run of hopper cars in the 60s where they attached two together
with a drawbar and lettered it with one number in order to get a tax break
since it was a -single car-. They were gone by the 70s once Big Brother got
wise to what they were doing and changed the regulation.

Also from Gary are three new one of kind kitbashed locomotives in S Scale.
Photos of his American Models based Conrail FL9 and NS GP50 nearing completion.
Two photos of his well underway C&EI EMD RS1325. The hard stuff is done.
Made with an SHS SW9 body, American Models GP35 cab and DPH GP low nose kit.
Plus added to his folder are two new additional photos of Gary's Amtrak RS3m
and CN GS-413.
The new and prior photos can be viewed in the NOSS - Gary Ippolito Photo Folder.
Gary had most of these models on display at our September Interstate
Get-Together this past September.
Just another example of what you can make with what we have available to us.
GREAT JOB, Gary!!!!
