Hi Michael; CDS produced try transfer lettering for model railroad equipment in multiple scales. They are no longer in production, but the remaining stock is available here:
http://www.tmrdistributing.com/CDS.htm If you don't like dry transfer lettering, they can be applied to blank film, over coated with a finish, and then applied like regular water slide transfers. Other sources for S scale Lettering are Great Decals: http://www.greatdecals.com/ and Jerry Glow's decal line http://home.comcast.net/~jerryglow/decals.html In some cases for both, you have to ask for S scale, and they may require 2 sets of each decal to print in the off-size. Oddball's Decals has many modern decals, and will do them in S. http://mopac1.tripod.com/oddballs3.htm Pieter E.
