Hi Butch;

While I have used brake fluid in the past, there are enough reports of 
plastics, especially ABS from Asia, being destroyed by it that I steer clear 
unless I have used it on the same manufacturer's shells before.

I've used alcohol, and hear good reports on oven cleaner and a couple of model 
hobby paint strippers. Don has mentioned Tide detergent a could of times, but I 
have not tried it yet.
