Maybe all the S Scalers should crawl back in bed and drift away into dream land. I waited all my life for interurban cars and finally got one from KND. He is now doing a freight motor. Life is now better We did get as far as a cutsey Birney car, but that died.
Maybe the hobby shops do not carry S as they probably got tired of all the whining and lamenting. Anyway take a deep breath and enjoy the new year. Just like the G scale cord that S somehow missed. And the N scale cord missed as well. Perhaps part of the problem is that S scale does not have a complete (really complete) RTR snap track system on display in local hobby shops. SHS was starting to make inroads via Walthers, but still had a long way to go. Track systems and starter sets and modern stuff are all somewhat lacking in S. Inch by inch we gotta crawl there and make progress in the forward direction. I wonder if the general awareness and knowledge of S scale has changed much over the past ten years as far as the average HO guy out there is concerned? Do our S marketing efforts (whatever they may be) actually have any measureable effect on existing experienced modelers in other scales?
