This Sergent coupler appears to be a more prototypical coupler than anything
we've had before. If I were now beginning, I'd probably stick with AM plastic
dummies until the real thing came out. Unfortunately, I've invested too much
in KDs and will probably try some of those Walthers couplers. Too much water
has passed under the bridge for me, and as disposable income shrinks, a total
redo of couplers just is not in the cards. To others who have less invested in
current technology, I'd say this could be a great step forward.

I'll be talking to Frank Sergent again in a week or so about the progress (if
any) on the new S couplers. Will let everyone know as soon as I have anything
to announce about them.

Hang in there... they will be worth the wait.

Any news regarding a possible re-release of their 'S' scale coupler?

I'm new enough to this scale and I don't have too much stuff (yet!) so making a
wholesale change over would certainly be " do-able" for me....
