Over the years, the NMRA has offered PRS cars as convention cars at several conventions. They have invited S groups to have joint conventions with them. They run many S-oriented articles in their NMRA magazine (ask Karnes, Stover, Loizeaux, etc.). They invite S guys to local Op Sessions. NMRA members come over here to help build my layout. Without the NMRA, your beloved NCE DCC system would not exist. Or any other DCC system for that matter. NMRA conventions are now open to the public at no extra cost. NASG conventions are restricted to members only. The NMRA is a large organization and there will be some personalities you might not care for - just like in the NASG. Given our 3% involvement in the hobby at large, and with most of that coming from the AF folks, I think the NMRA has done a reasonably decent job of accepting us and helping us. I don't see an uncaring monster lurking in the woodwork here. Ed L.
