Bill, this point may be true but it is irrevelent. The important point is that the NMRA is relevant to most model railroaders including S scalers. This is particularly true for modelers who use DCC and want to learn more about it. The learning curve is a whole lot longer and steeper than it was when we hooked up two wires from a transformer to run an American Flyer train, especially if we want to get the most out of our DCC systems. I love the NASG conventions and we have some great clinicians, some of whom led clinics at this past summer's NMRA/NASG joint conventions. I am talking about clinics for modelers of all gaugers. But how many DCC clinics are offered at NASG conventions. The importance of the NMRA is not because they own it. Its because they have s9o many attendees that they can recruit the very best presenters in this new technical field. Will I have more fun at an NASG Convention? Of course. Will I learn more at an NASG Convention? Probably not. I want to have fun AND learn more and I can do that at a joint convention. It is incumbent upon us as S modelers who attend future joint conventions to come up with a way to help us identify each other when we get there. Like special hats, special T-shirts, special badges. It also lets other be more aware of S scalers who are serious modelers. Being obstinate is a personal choice, but please do not encourage other S scalers to be that way. - Earl Henry, Nashville In a message dated 1/9/2012 12:59:56 P.M. My main point still remains true. S Scale is irrelevant to the NMRA.
