I've been in S-scale since the mid-1960's and there has always been an
undercurrent of anti-NMRA sentiment among S-scalers, and this is too bad. From
my own experience at the local Division level, the NMRA is a great place to
meet other model railroaders, to share ideas, and to experience other local
layouts.

The local NMRA Division is also a great place to expose modelers in other
scales to S-scale. I had my layout on a local Potomac Division tour about 5
years ago, and I am looking into having another open house later this year.

As with ANY human organization, getting involved in the politics of the
organization can be a frustrating experience. So, just avoid the politics and
enjoy the company of other modelers.

Why not?
