Buses

If anyone out there knows of a Newgard kit for the 1930's buses, please inform
me. Mr. Newgard, who lives in Ontario, abouta 2004 produced a 1/64th model of
the Yellow coach, exclusive initially to Greyhound. Greyhound also allowed
affiliated carriers, such as Chicago & North Western Stages, Union Pacific
Stages, and possibly many out East, about which I have no idea.

Eventually, the Yellow coaches began to show up on smaller carriers who had no
affiliation with Greyhound. For example Jefferson Lines based in Minneapolis,
Minnesota, purchased some and operated them as late as 1948 and possibly even
into 1950. I would like one if anyone has knowledge of a source.

Tom

Hello ?

As Ed mentioned, Hoquat made two resin bus models.

Peter Newguard made a 1/64 1930's bus, about $70 for the kit. It's also OOP for
some years.

A bus modeler in Florida had solid plaster bus models, mostly HO but some 1/64
as well. Also vanished. Possibly the name was Robert's Model Transportation.

Currently there are a couple of toy diecast busses available. One is a "city"
bus, often painted for Police use, with a button on the back that makes it
light up. A bit oversize for S, but a start.

Some toy stores also have a flat-front school bus that would be re-worked and
painted to look like a transit bus.

Some old Tootsie Toy busses might also work; with paint, new wheels and glass
added they wouldn't be too bad. Antique shops, train shows and Ebay are your
best bet for these.
