Rich & Alan,

Yes I had some thoughts about that statement from Alan as well. I have a PBL
Shay (WSLCO #12) that is near and dear to my heart because it was owned by
my friend the late Howie Waelder. There are a few things I wanted for the
DCC and a few more I did not - like WIRES between the loco and Aux tender.
It is tough enough to get his thing on the track without dealing with any
plugs. If you have ever worked on this Shay you know it is incredibly tight
for space. I shoehorned in a N SCALE decoder (not sound) under the
motor/gearbox.

So this wonderful Shay does not have a sound unit. It is amazingly quiet and
Purrs along at speeds you have to stare at it without blinking to make sure
it is really moving. Don't call it a toy!

Thank You,
Bill Lane
