As most know the Jefferson Central/Reading Company model railroad is old and
runs on DC with many blocks. I would love to cut out all the wiring and
reinstall new for DCC. But I have at least 30 some locomotives and that
makes it a challenge at my age.

So, like Bob (Nicholson), I run my trains, fix and repair track when needed
and all is well.

My sound comes from two MRC Synchro Sound Box for Steam and Diesel. #0001025
units. (The speakers are above and n below the layout.)

They are in sync with whatever locomotive I'm presently running.( Actually
two locomotives if that be the case.)

The throaty sound of my diesels starting up and running is pretty neat, and
is definitely identifiable.

A friend of mine runs DC American Flyer, American Models and S Helper
Service, on American Flyer Track and some of his locomotives have (?) sound
and they sound pretty neat too!

If I ever have to take down this layout, my new modules will have DCC with
all the trimmings.

This current thread on who has sound, how many locomotives run with sound,
who runs with it, is ridiculous and should be stopped, however it was
enlightening to know that one didn't have to have sound in all of his
locomotive units.

"S"incerely,

Bill (Fraley)
