Michael,
I was one who voted for them. However it wasn't stated whether this was
going to be a brass product or some other material. Also River Raisin
has a similar version available at this time. They came in in the
typical "extra parts package" with SD-7/9's, but were/are available in
pairs. Similars might have also come with other brass engines in the
past--or at least they should have. They are a common item on many
diesels and I will support that product.
The problem with 'solid' numbers isn't something anybody's going to get
on this list, unfortunately. This is a product that is designed for
improving or modifying an engine but so many of us never change anything
including actually painting an engine.
