Ed: Exactly - When I ask for criticism, I take what I get and look at it seriously, since this [should] be how we all learn to be better modelers. Your "track record" in the model railroad arena over the years is exemplary, although I find that NYC passenger train you brought to the 1975 NASG convention hard to beat, even though some would consider it dated by "today's" standards. I admire the effort, vision, and imagination of the creator as much, if not more, than the creation itself. That is what I try to emulate, to the degree my circumstances permit.
That being said, although much of my work IS definitely dated by today's standards, when I do come up with something that I think may be of value to others, I like to advertise it and get feedback. The number boards are one example; they represent some long hard thought on how to get them to best look like what I remember from my early Santa Fe days, frosted number inserts lit from behind. Only the American Models F-units are so equipped at present, but, maybe, some day, if I live long enough. . . Again, I appreciate your input and the bit of humor that accompanied it. That's what puts S way ahead of the also-ran scales Bob Nicholson _________________________________________ --- In [email protected], "Ed" <Loizeaux@...> wrote: > > >In closing, I value Uncle Ed's candid commentary, > > boB Nicholson > > Bob....You are a true diplomat.
