Hi Bob I'm also looking into this material as well. It's certainly cheaper if it can do the same job. It's probably time to close this thread so again I'd like to thank everyone for their observations and suggestions

I have used the one inch thick stuff on a museum display and think it would work very good for a Free-mo set up. You would want to frame it with something light weight with the 3/4" ends but I think it would work good. It sells for about $17 for a 4x8 sheet of one inch. Bob Boring --
