I had been corresponding with a fellow in the Detroit area who happen to
have relatives back in South Dakota. So happens he was a Milwaukee fan,
his grandparents lived very close to my mother in law on the farm, so we
had a few things in common. We had lunch together in Detroit at the
close of the last convention there.
He modeled in HO, and BTW used one of boB Nicholson's MR trackplans. He
was ready to switch to S based on the Milwaukee colored SHS SW-1. He
said all he needed was some pumpkin colored F units and maybe a GP-9
lettered likewise. So if SHS had been able to stay in the F unit
business we would have had another convert. But Jace, we're happy you
came along for the ride too. BTW, both Chuck Porter and myself were
waiting for them too, so I guess that leaves me!

As I think I've observed before, SHS is a major reason why I got into
S scale in the first place.
