A review of the S periodicals from the time would probably yield a more 
definitive answer, but I think the rational was Mr. Sandersfeld's rapid rise in 
S, followed quickly by an untimely passing. 

His company, Omicon, released a relatively large amount of product (by S 
standards) in a short time. The assumption was that he would have continued 
that path if not for a sudden death at a relatively young age. 

I know you were active in S at that time, Ed. Have you really forgotten?
