Well, I rebuilt the two main line switches, to the West Pass and Back Lead at
Terminal District, and re-installed them. They should have "bolted back in",
except for a couple of foibles of my own making. I still operate them with
adjacent ground throw mechanisms, but that will change soon, I hope.

Also, I installed the points spring mechanism on the switch that will tie North
1 into the North Main at the West end, thus double-ending that track to serve a
through track for inbound and outbound freight trains. I will install it as
soon as time permits, but tomorrow I have a consultation with the surgeon who
is going to tear down my heart and do a valve job on it. No word yet on how
long I'll sit on the deadline until the mechanical department has an opening in
the shop, but I'm sure glad I went to Dayton!

I decided against putting in a crossover from North 1 to the North main.
Instead, This will isolate about three feet at the stub end of North 1 when I
tie North 1 into the spring switch, which I have never needed, anyway. The
isolated section will then be left to the mercy of unrestrained underbrush
proliferation, along with a few pieces of derelict rolling stock trapped on its
confines since there will be no way to retrieve them.

Photos (and, yes, even maybe a track plan!) when I can provide them.
