As a Seaboard modeler... most Seaboard locos were painted Pullman Green... I
tried to match the background color on my web site to this color. I checked a
variety of photos for continuity and settled on what was the most common shade.
I used the "Pick Color" tool in MS Paint and selected a pixel from one of
those photos, then I used the "Fill" tool in MS paint to create a Paint Patch
graphic for use in TILED fashion to achieve the background color on my site.
See below :

All you have to do to get a copy of this file is go to my site and RIGHT-click
on a green area (where there is no text or graphics) and select "Save
Background As" then save it it on your computer.

You can also just RIGHTclick on the link below and select "Save Target As" and
save it directly from this post (assuming the hyperlink is not stripped) :

You should be able to use this file as a paint matching tool.

  Subject: {S-Scale List} Pullman "Green"?

  Earl,
You might want to consider joining the passenger car list on Yahoo if you
are not already on it. Awhile back there was some discussion on "Pullman
Green", it was pretty much concluded that original, new Pullman Green paint was
a closer match to UPS "Brown". I myself can't quite go along with that, but
perhaps new and in sunlight this could be the case.
Also, I think I might have mentioned on this list that you also have to
consider a slight color "darkening" when you overcoat with any clear, Dullcote,
Glosscote, or as was recommended to me, Tamiya Satin or Semi-Gloss for
passenger cars.
