Hi Stan --

The Airslides were a lot bigger than WWII era cars.   Enough so that I traded 
my brass Airslide for a brass ACF covered hopper.   While the car (early) was 
of the correct era for my railroad, it just looked way out of place.  It must 
have loomed large on the real railroads, too.

Today’s trains are even bigger...

manufacturer shorten the height of the car to better match Flyer covered  
hoppers- and he did.
